Jijau Foundation

Jijau Educational and Social Organization, established in 2008, is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities across five districts in Maharashtra: Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. The organization focuses on various sectors, including education, health, employment, agriculture, and notably, women empowerment.

In its commitment to women’s empowerment, Jijau has facilitated the formation of over 5,000 women’s self-help groups (SHGs), actively engaging members in employment-related activities. These SHGs provide platforms for women to undertake various income-generating endeavors, fostering financial independence and community development.

To further support women’s self-reliance, Jijau organizes self-employment and vocational guidance programs. A notable initiative, ‘Aarambh Navya Parvacha,’ was launched to offer professional guidance and self-employment opportunities to women. This program has benefited over 5,000 women, providing training in diverse fields such as garment manufacturing, incense stick production, rickshaw driving, and mehndi application. Additionally, the organization has distributed free sewing machines to underprivileged women in Thane, enabling them to start their own tailoring businesses.

Through these comprehensive efforts, Jijau Educational and Social Organization strives to empower women, enabling them to achieve financial independence and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
